The SHBBHRS013 - Provide Hair Reduction Treatments course is a Nationally Recognised unit from the current Diploma of Beauty Therapy. Upon completion, you will receive a Statement of Attainment, granting you national recognition as an Electrologist Practitioner.

As outlined by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), Electrologists must undergo comprehensive training from recognised Australian institutions like Dermaskin Training. This ensures that practitioners possess the knowledge and skills needed to perform Electrolysis safely and effectively.

This course covers all performance criteria, knowledge and skills required to remove unwanted hair from the face and body. Assessments include both knowledge-based and practical tasks.

To complete SHBBHRS013, you must also hold SHBBINF002 - Maintain Infection Control, which Dermaskin Training offers alongside the Electrolysis course. Flexible delivery options are available, including self-paced online learning via Zoom and face-to-face sessions.

COURSE DELIVERY

Our course is structured to be flexible to allow self paced, online, zoom or face to face delivery to meet all our Learners needs.

Electrolysis typically takes around 30+ hours to complete and is categorised into Theory, Skills and Directed Practice

THEORY
4 x 4 hour blocks -
delivered online, face to face at our salon/training facility at Padstow Heights or via zoom.
You will receive all learning materials via our online portal and can begin supported learning at any time.

SKILLS
1 x 8hr block -
delivered face to face at our salon/ training facility at Padstow Heights or via zoom

NOTE: interstate/Rural Learners will attend this block at a prior arranged training facility. Dates and locations will follow shortly but please reach out to register your interest or nearest training to you

DIRECTED PRACTICE
Students are given time to perfect their Electrolysis Skills and then arrange for Assessment face to face at our salon/ training facility at Padstow Heights, via zoom or video evidence

ASSESSMENTS

Knowledge Assessment:
- Theory Paper

Skills Assessment:
- 5 x Treatment Plans on live models
- 2 x Treatment Plans on consecutive models

Treatment areas can include face, chin, underarm, leg, bikini etc

Evidence of Skills Assessment can be demonstrated face to face, onsite, via zoom or video/photo
